Guests are more than welcome to enjoy the lounge at any time of the day. It’s a comfortable and inviting space—perfect for relaxing, reading, or even working remotely if you’d like to work from home during your stay.

The lounge features a TV with Netflix for your entertainment, along with a collection of books filled with local insights, mythical stories, and a variety of popular games.

What makes the lounge extra special are the beautiful views overlooking the historic Viking settlement at the Brough of Birsay. You’ll also enjoy sweeping sea views, with stunning sunsets that make the perfect end to your day.

For those arriving by car, we offer ample on-site parking. Cyclists and motorbike riders can rest easy too—there’s secure overnight storage available in our garage.

  • A full refund is available for cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the arrival date

  • There are no minimum night stay requirements making Viking’s View an ideal overnight stay for pilgrims on the St. Magnus Way Route

  • No smoking or naked flame on premises is permitted at any time

  • No parties permitted or late-night entries after 11:30 PM, so not to disturb other guests

  • Reservations are legally binding under Scottish law

  • A valid credit card is required to secure all bookings, however no payments will be taken until two weeks prior to check-in date where full payment will be expected

  • No change for cancellations before two weeks

  • No children under eight years of age

  • Rooms are located on the first floor so all guests must be able to use the stairs

  • Sorry no animals permitted on the premises

  • For late cancellations two weeks and after check-in date no refund will be given which also includes any no shows
